Up on the Roof at NEMO is a public rooftop square and garden perched 22 metres above Amsterdam's Eastern Docklands on the fifth floor of the NEMO Science Museum, recognised as the highest city square in the Netherlands. Open daily and free to access via lift or the building's wide staircase, the rooftop offers sweeping panoramic views over Amsterdam's skyline, historic harbour, and waterways. A lush ecosystem of more than 75 species of flowers and plants creates a green urban refuge in the heart of the city, where guests can study clouds, measure air quality, and observe urban wildlife. The Museum Restaurant and the Conservatory Bar serve food and drinks alongside a generous outdoor seating area, blending science, sustainability, and leisure in one inspiring elevated setting above the city.
