Cafe Vju, known as Room with a Vju, is a remarkable rooftop cafe and bar set 30 metres above ground on top of the historic Energiebunker in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg, a vast anti-aircraft bunker built in 1943 that has since been converted into a landmark renewable energy plant. The rooftop terrace offers a sweeping 360-degree panoramic view over Hamburg and its surroundings, providing one of the most historically resonant and visually distinctive elevated settings in the city. The menu features fine cakes, fresh waffles, sandwiches, small dishes, and a full selection of coffee from the in-house Waterkant roastery, alongside beer, wine, and soft drinks. Weekend breakfast buffets are a popular draw, and the venue is also available for private events including conferences, celebrations, and guided tours of the energy centre below. An extraordinary and meaningful destination in Hamburg.
